Water hazards feature on many of the holes, especially the long par 3 13th that remind visitors of the famous hole at Pennina. Despite the numerous hazards, well struck shots are always rewarded by the receptive nature of the slick undulating greens.

Hole-by-hole advice
Hello I’m Robert Green, Golf Professional at Nazeing and this is your opportunity to get some expert insider knowledge about the coarse. As you will see below i have given tips for some holes to help you along and hopefully improve your round. Enjoy!

The 1st
Very strong opening hole welcomes you to Nazeing. Big hitters can take it over the water to set up a shorter 2 nd shot. Otherwise a well placed drive around the water sets up a longer shot to a big green.

The 2nd
Medium iron to a tricky par 3. Green slopes diagonally away from the tee but also slopes left to right. Being above the hole can cost you a 3 putt.

The 3rd
A good drive here leaves a shorter shot to this tricky 2 tier green. If you don't then you can leave a long second to a shallow green.

The 4th
Length is not the key here. A well placed drive leaves a short shot in to this well protected green.

The 5th
Birdie chance! Avoiding the fairway bunkers leaves this par 5 reachable in 2 shots.

The 6th
No bunkers on this hole. Don't let this fool you. Stroke index 1, needs two accurate shots with only your best long iron to this green.

The 7th
Second par 5 comes alive as you approach the green, water and sand protect the right side and trees and a ditch protect the left. Best played as a 3 shotter.

The 8th
A very difficult par 3. Long, high tee shot is needed to hold this shallow green. A short shot will be   swallowed up by 2 big bunkers.

The 9th
Hole 9 brings you back to the clubhouse. Slight dog-leg needs a good drive to avoid fairway bunkers. Second shot is up hill and plays longer than the yardage suggests. Hole out and head to the clubhouse to grab a quick drink and bite to eat before heading back out to master the back 9.

The 10th
A great start to the back 9. A reachable par 5 in 2 shots. A loose shot will be punished from the tee. Second shot must avoid the ditch and trees. A long narrow green awaits

The 11th
A mid iron needed into this well protected par 3. Put bunkers guard to the left and right side of the green. If you find the green, concentration is still needed to navigate this sloping green.

The 12th
Longest hole on the course. A good drive is needed to fly the cross bunkers that cut through the fairway. Only the longest hitters can get there in two.

The 13th
Our signature hole. Par 3 from the tips plays 238 yards. Water to the right, trees and out of bounds left. Need I say any more!

The 14th
Strong par 4. 416 yards plays uphill to a tough two-tier green. Out of bounds waits beyond the green. Par is a great score here.

The 15th
The shortest hole on the course but don't be fooled. A well guarded   green with water right and a bunker short. Accuracy is a must to find this green.

The 16th
A positional tee shot is key. Second shot to a slightly raised green must be hit in high to find the well protected green. Arguably the hardest green to read on the course, two putts is good here.

The 17th
A great short par 4. Risk reward hole. Many players can drive this green and make an easy birdie. However a slightly wayward drive left means out of bounds, right finds the ditch. Eagles and birdies are very common but so are 8's and 9's.

The 18th
The home hole, big par 5 to finish. Generous landing area allows you to open the shoulders. The lay up with the second shot is important to allow a short shot to the raised green.
